Learning Crosses Seas
One of the many boons of today’s technologically advanced world is that it has turned the world into one close-knit global community; hence, it is imperative that today’s youth is groomed into being a global citizen by making the most out of this opportunity. In one of such MBIS’s earnest attempts, the students of Grade 8 were given a unique opportunity to interact with Japanese teachers. The introductory session was held on Friday, 7 May 2021 where the students of MBIS taught some words in our national language to these teachers and learnt some Japanese vocabulary from them. Isn’t it incredible how learning is no longer bound to only a certain perimeter?

The Art of Public Speaking is an act of giving power to words – to influence, inspire and transform lives. This was done for the Hindi Elocution activity at Mainadevi Bajaj International School on Tuesday, 23rd March 2021. This gave the students a good opportunity to overcome their fear of stage fright. Although the competition was held online, the students had to prepare just like they would have in a normal school setting.
Competitions like these allow the student to connect with the audience and also understand the concepts of voice modulation. The practice is very essential before going on stage and the preparation must be a sincere effort.
Although the Grade 6 children recited poetry, the Grade 9 children were given an opportunity to talk on the topic ‘Parivartan’.
One of the significant goals of an educational institution is to nurture young minds and groom them into becoming a conscious and vigilant citizen. To achieve this goal, MBIS organized an elocution competition on 29 January 2021 for the students of grades 8 and 9 which required them to research and present their views on topics ranging from sports and friendships to UN sustainable goals and media ethics. The intent was to encourage critical and analytical thinking alongside employing persuasive tools.
